May Best of the Bunch

Best of the Bunch is a monthly linkup where we can share the best books we read each month and award one of them “Best of the Bunch.” This blog hop originated at Lyrical Reviews and then moved over to Always Lost in Stories. At the end of 2014, hosting was handed over to A Cocoon of Books

How is it already the end of May?!

I’ll let you know early that this’ll be a short post as I only read one book in May.

It was an amazing book, though!

The Book Thief botb

I finished this on the 21st and still don’t think I have the words to properly review it. I was hesitant to start it though because it’s a huge book and historical fiction, which i don’t usually read. But I think listening to it with audio as well helped me. If you haven’t yet read this, I do recommend it!

That’s going to be it for now, hope you had a good May!

Happy Reading,

Hello, Hello. Welcome to June. Today I’ll share with you what I’ll be reading/reviewing for the month of June.

I didn’t get any votes on the poll that I put up for this month so I’m going to choose which book I review. I’m going to go ahead and wait until I read one of them to decide, but I will most likely review Into the Drowning Deep because I have wished that I did it right after finishing it. As I said in the last post I have a lot of notes from when I read it the first time, so I’m excited to share some of it with you!

Happy Reading,

Library Lovers Book Tag

Welcome back to another Tag Tuesday; this one I got from B over at Doubt I Can Paint. If you want to check out her post click here!

1. How often do you visit your local library?

Probably about every other week, sometimes every week.

2. Are you the type of person who checks out more books than you know you can read, or are you someone who only checks out the exact amount of books you intend on reading before they are due?

Well, I currently have 15 [technically 19 because I have 4 out for my niece right now] checked out, and I definitely don’t read 15 books in 3 weeks. I get a bit carried away when I go to the library.

3. How old were you when you got your first library card?

I don’t know, probably as soon as I could write my name by myself. So, 4 or 5 maybe.

4. Do you go to your library looking for a particular book or do you check out anything that peaks your interest?

Both. It just depends. Some days I know exactly what I want and sometimes I just like to browse the library.

5. Do you use your library to check out just books or do you also check out DVDs, audio-books etc.?

Typically just physical books. I may check out a DVD sometime if they have one I want but if I want an audio-book, I just use libby or overdrive!

6. From what section of your library do you check out a majority of your books? (YA, middle grade, adult, nonfiction.)

Typically YA/Teen section. I do go to the adult science fiction & fiction sections too.

7. What is your favourite part of using your local library?

The fact that I don’t have to buy/pay for the books. It’s a good way to read a book you don’t know if you’ll like before you buy it.

That’s it for this tag! Feel free to do this tag as well and put your link in the comments so I can check them out!

Happy Reading,

Biblio Games Announcement & TBR!

Hello Everyone! It’s nearly time for another round of the Biblio Games [formerly BookTube Games] and I’m going to share my TBR with you today.

The Biblio Games was created by Myonna @ littlewolfreads on twitter. This rounds theme is Sky High, so there are four different teams; Heroes, Sidekicks, Antiheroes & Villains. There are two hosts per team, they are:

Weekly Update (5-27-19)

Welcome back to another weekly update. Today I’ll share with you what I’ve read in the last week and some other updates. I’ll also be actually sharing with you some posts that are coming up [ which i forgot to do last time ].

Let’s start off with the books I read last week.

The Book Thief

I finally finished the book thief! I don’t think I’ll post a review for this one, but I will tell you that I gave it 5 stars.

I read this one while also listening to the audio, which I think was done really well.

I’m currently reading 3 other books still. Continue reading “Weekly Update (5-27-19)”

TBR List June!

Alright! I’m excited to try this out. As I said in my last TBR List post, I’m doing this a bit differently now. Today I’m going to give you the choices and poll so you can vote on what you want me to review in June. Then on the 1st of June I’ll make a post letting you know which book won. This way I have the whole month rather than only 2 weeks to read and review the book. I’ll also have reviews coming out for books that I’ve been sent by either the author/publisher/agent for review probably in June. I don’t want to ramble too much about this so let’s get into the options!

As always, I’ll give you the synopsis of each book, but if you don’t want to read them, the poll will be all the way at the bottom!

Weekly Update (5/20/19)

Hello Everyone! I’m a bit late with this post, but I didn’t want to wait another whole week before posting it. I told you on the 8th that I was planning on changing up this update meme, and that’s mainly because I just don’t really like the setup of Sunday Post/It’s Monday anymore. Because this is the first Weekly Update post, please leave comments on what you like about it and what you think I should change up to make this a better weekly update.

I’m planning on going over what I read the previous week, what I want to read this coming week, blog posts to look out for, some writing updates, and maybe even some blog shoutouts for you all. So, please feel free to leave suggestions or anything on these posts, be it suggestions on how format, topics covered and even some blogs you think I should mention!

Bout of Books 25 Wrap-Up

Hello! I’m back to share with you my Bout of Books 25 Wrap-Up!

I’m going to go ahead and start off with the fact that I barely read from my actual TBR. Also, I didn’t read anything on the last two days of the readathon because I was out of town for my cousin’s graduation and didn’t have much time. I could have read in the car but it would have made me sick. Continue reading “Bout of Books 25 Wrap-Up”

Book Blogger Confessions

Welcome back to Tag Tuesday, today is another tag found from The Book Nut [they found it here Laura’s Book Reviews] & here is their post if you want to check it out too!

1. Which book, most recently, did you not finish?

Probably Archenemies, but not because I wasn’t liking it. I had to take it back to the library, I actually plan on picking it back up in June for this round of the biblio games

2. Which book is your guilty pleasure?

There are 2 middle grade series that I really enjoy, Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney and The Gateway Series by Cerberus Jones

3. Which book do you love to hate?

Bout of Books TBR

The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda Shofner and Kelly Rubidoux Apple. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, May 13th and runs through Sunday, May 19th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure. There are challenges, Twitter chats, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 25 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. – From the Bout of Books team

Happy Saturday, today I’m going to share with you my Bout of Books TBR. If you follow my Twitter you’ll know that I’m hoping to get through Aurora Rising and The Book Thief before Monday. I want to be able to start new books during the readathon, but if I don’t finish them by Monday, it’s okay, but I want to get a good chunk of them both finished at least.

Anyway, just as the last Bout of Books, there aren’t any reading challenges, there are Instagram challenges that I will do and ‘blog’ challenges. The blog-type challenges I’ll be doing on Twitter though, because usually it’s only a few lines, and I don’t want to have a bunch of posts that are only a few lines. So, for this readathon, I’ll be posting a wrap-up on the 20th, which is the day after it finishes where I’ll let you know if I finished the books on my TBR or if I read different books.

Let’s go ahead and get into the TBR then I’ll let you know what all the challenges are!Continue reading “Bout of Books TBR”
