Weekly Update [7-22-19]

Hello, finally.

If you follow my twitter, you’ll know that I’ve been on a spontaneous hiatus from just about everything. I’ve just not been in the right mind set to write, read or blog lately. It doesn’t help that I’ve been at my sister’s house since Thursday [7-18] so she can go to work and my niece, who had surgery Wednesday [7-17] can be at home. I’ll be here to help out and watch my niece probably until this Wednesday night just so she doesn’t have to get up early and leave the house until Thursday.

June Best of the Bunch

Hello, Hello.

I’m a bit late on these posts because I took a week off blogging just to try and get on track for Camp NaNoWrimo and the Book Junkie Trials.

Today I’ll be sharing with you my June Best of the Bunch, then the rest of this week until Monday I’m hoping to get up a Book Junkie Trials announcement/TBR and a review for Archenemies. Then Monday I should be back on track with my Weekly Update!

So, in the month of June I read 12 Books; 7 of which were Graphic Novels, and 3 five stars! They were;

My Brother's Husband

The SelectionArchenemies

I honestly loved all three of these books, but one was just SOOO GOOOD that it wasn’t too hard to choose this month which would be the best of the bunch!Continue reading “June Best of the Bunch”

Weekly Update [6-26-19]

Hello! Welcome Back for another Weekly Update! Today I’ll be sharing with you the books I’ve read in the last week, some readathon news for July, camp NaNoWrimo stuff and posts to look forward to in the next week.

Let’s go ahead and start out with the books I’ve read in the past week!

I’ve only finished two books this week as well and both were graphic novels.

Paper Girls 3

Paper Girls 2

&

I also read 40 pages of Into the Drowning Deep and the first 92 pages of Wilder Girls!

Now onto some fun readathon info. I’m participating in two readathons in July, which may be too many because it is also Camp NaNoWriMo but we’ll try and make it work.

The first one I’m participating in is The Book Junkie Trials which is a month long readathon. I will be posting my TBR for this a bit closer to the 1st of July so keep a look out for that.

The other readathon I’ll be participating in is The Reading Rush [formerly BookTubeAThon]. It occurs from July 22-29; my TBR for this one will be coming around the middle of the month.

If you didn’t already know, Camp NaNoWriMo is similar to NaNoWriMo, except it occurs twice a year [april, july] and you get to choose your own goal whether it be pages, hours, lines or words.

This will be my fourth time participating in Camp and I’m super excited because my goal is to get to 50k on my WIP [which will hopefully still end up being 25k words for the month]. I’m currently at 18,607 words so I still need to get around 6,333 words before July starts!

Are you participating in Camp NaNoWriMo in July? If so what is your writing goal?

Finally let’s get to talking about some upcoming posts;

I’ll for sure have a TBR List up this weekend [it’ll be the poll for July] and I’m hoping to get my review out this weekend as well.

Also, as I said above, I’ll have my TBR for the Bookie Trials up probably on the 28th or 30th!

That’s going to be it for today, sorry it’s a bit late but I’ve been pretty tired after being out of town this weekend. I’ll see you later though!

Happy Reading,

Sav

Mid-Year Book Freak Out

Hello! Today I decided I would do the Mid-Year Book Freak Out tag. There are so many BookTubers that do this, so I decided to go ahead and give it a shot.

I’m not sure who originally started this but I think it’s been around for a few years.

Best book you’ve read so far in 2019

This is a tough one, I have eight 5 star books so far. Taking out the re-reads, that’s about six 5 stars, and that didn’t make the decision any easier.

I think I’m going to have to go with On the Edge of Gone by Corinne Duyvis. If you want to see my review click here!

Weekly Update (6-17-19)

Hello, Hello! This post is a bit late today, but my niece has been at my house today and then I took a pretty long nap. I need to start writing these out on the day before, then I wouldn’t have this problem.

Let’s just go ahead and get into the update before I start rambling.

I finished 2 books this past week, they were

GeorgeArchenemies

&

I also read ~ 161 pages of The Knife of Never Letting Go. [as of 21:50 Monday i’m 182 pages in!]

The X-Files Book Tag

I’m so excited to do this tag guys! I found it on the Book Princess Reviews, and if you want to see Mandy’s original check it out here. Let me start off by saying I haven’t finished the whole series of X-files [mainly because I need to get the movies first so I can watch it all in the correct order] but it is my favourite show. Mulder is probably my favourite fictional character EVER! I’m not going to tag anyone, but if you want to do the tag please do and comment your link down below so I can check it out!

The Rules:

  • Take out your fake FBI badge and answer the questions
  • You can link back to Book Princess Reviews (aka pingback to here) if you wish, so I can fangirl all over your posts
  • Keep the alien love alive possibly and tag any and all X-Files fans you know…or just other people – either or?

Fox is known to have some “out there” beliefs, so name a book that you believe in despite everyone/ratings/reviews tell you perhaps isn’t that great

This is a hard one. I think I’d have to say The 5th Wave though, I’ve read the first book twice and the other 2 books just once. But I love this book so much and I do see reviews out there where people hate it and say it’s boring and some other things, but it remains one of my favourite books!Continue reading “The X-Files Book Tag”

Weekly Update (6-10-19) [aka Biblio Games Update]

Hello!

Welcome back to Monday, and another Weekly Update. Today we’ll be talking about the books I’ve read since last Monday, some fun things I did this week, and some posts to look forward to in the upcoming week.

So, Last week I finished 6 books.

First I finished The Selection on the 3rd, I gave this one 4.5 stars. I enjoyed it much more than I thought I did, though the names in the book are not great, I do plan on continuing the series and have already put the second book on hold through my library. After finishing this I started Wastelands, and what I’ve read so far is pretty good, I’ve only read the first 2 stories but I’m liking it.

Then, on the 4th I read The Math Kids: A Sequence of Events. This was one of my NetGalley reads, and I gave it 4 stars just like I did the first book. If you want to see my review, click here.

Weekly Update (6-3-19)

Hey! Welcome to June. I can’t believe we’re already halfway through 2019.

It’s time, now for another weekly update! This time I’ll be telling you about my reading last week, some upcoming reading plans for the Biblio Games AND a few blog posts to look forward to in the next week!

So, I didn’t finish any books in the past week. I haven’t even really read all that much. I read about 99 more pages of Gemina before I had to take it back to the library because someone else had it on hold. Then I didn’t read anything until the first of June.

May Best of the Bunch

Best of the Bunch is a monthly linkup where we can share the best books we read each month and award one of them “Best of the Bunch.” This blog hop originated at Lyrical Reviews and then moved over to Always Lost in Stories. At the end of 2014, hosting was handed over to A Cocoon of Books

How is it already the end of May?!

I’ll let you know early that this’ll be a short post as I only read one book in May.

It was an amazing book, though!

The Book Thief botb

I finished this on the 21st and still don’t think I have the words to properly review it. I was hesitant to start it though because it’s a huge book and historical fiction, which i don’t usually read. But I think listening to it with audio as well helped me. If you haven’t yet read this, I do recommend it!

That’s going to be it for now, hope you had a good May!

Happy Reading,

Sav
